thread Anyone with more money than sense
want to buy me one of these?

Edit: I found a website that lets you make your own fonts. You can now pretend to be me (in a rather limited way, you only get 75 characters for free):
TTF version
OTF version
permalink I suspect that'd make parking and reversing harder
just as you'd have less sense of where the car is....
permalink I suspect I'd have a better sense
given the state of my rear window.

I disagree, I think it'd give better vision of what's behind you and how close you are to stuff.

MrsJam would hate it though. She always distrusts one of my technological solutions to something non-tec that worked perfectly well in the first place.
permalink there is that, 'hey, let's spend £100 on a camera that shows what's behind us and beams it to...
...our rearview mirror!'

'or we could turn our heads?'

be more useful in the front corners where you have a blind spot cause by the shape on the bonnet.
permalink The camera is at the top of your windscreen, it'd help.
And it's about having a decent integrated dashcam that isn't getting in the way.
permalink wouldn't the angle be all wrong then?
permalink I wouldn't know, nobody's bought me one.
permalink if I win the Premium Bonds
I'll get you one for Christmas
permalink Aesome
permalink The rear camera to where the mirror should be
Is excellent for vans/trucks which don't have, by design, rear view
permalink this is exaclty what came to mind
that of for a lamboghini or other ridiculous car you can't see out the back
permalink Or you could just have a reversing camera
And put the picture in the normal place, on the stereo/entertainment screen, meaning your rearview mirror functioned as is.

I would like a forward facing camera for parking too though, seeing where your nose is can be tricky, lord knows having a reversing one has made getting into tight parking spaces much easier
permalink For insurance
or reddit karma?
permalink My mum paid for my insurance in a lump sum,
so not that.
permalink I'm about to go in for an MRI
Which is cool... The form where they ask you if you've ever had metal fragments in your eye is moderately unsettling though
permalink "well, we'll soon find out!"
permalink They asked all the questions again
But then were remarkably casual about me wearing my shorts with zips etc in the room.. I guess the powrrfull bit is around the head.

If we know any hardcore trance techno DJs who need inspiration they should mic up the MRI, it's amazingly like a avant Garde techno, with wired grinding bleeps at weird intervals and rythms etc.. slightly hypnotic
permalink Last time i went for one they gave me headphones
And force-fed me U2 for half an hour

By which point I wished for metal fragments in my ears
permalink It was Coldplay last time I had an MRI.
I opted for the machine noise.
permalink Or maybe I should have gone with this:-
permalink this is pretty close to what it sounded like
in mine.

though much more 'surround' sound obviously
permalink they did you a favour!
a friends off to tokyo and i was wondering if you could list a few places that are worth a visit.. cheaper the better but not neccessary (or maybe there's a website for such things?)
permalink they said they were going to give me classical music
but it never arrived.. either that or it was some very weird shit.

Looking at it the invention of the MRI it predates some trance music.. I wonder....
permalink i'm not sure anything could compete with the delight of an mri
one of my all top 10 gigs even though i'm on probably my 8th i still get excited :)
permalink Nothing like a bit of
Whitehouse, eh?
permalink well it's a bit more KlingKlang
but yeah.. healing of the body and the mind!
permalink They found a small scrap of metal inside my plaster cast
due to me wondering why something red-hot was burning my shin
permalink yeouch.
permalink Last time I had an MRI
I eschewed sounds in my ears and it STILL sounded like Test Dept or early Einsturzende Neubauten.
permalink Ah yes, I believe this one was the B-side to
Krieg In Den Städten
permalink so where did you get it done?
i wouldn't mind a lautreamont font.. i've attempted in the past with some adobe add-on but it was all a bit meh

permalink cheers i'll give it a try
